Strange Money

Strange Money is the brainchild of a country boy from Idaho and a trailer park kid from Washington state that happened to move next door to each other in Utah.

Though they learned many important lessons growing up, money and creating wealth were not part of the curriculum. Professionally, they took different paths – Will as an attorney and Nick in the financial services industry – but each came to the same critical conclusions about creating safe, sustainable, and lasting wealth. They found that a tremendous amount of financial misinformation exists and that wealth is not created in the ways most Americans think it is.

Our mission is simple: we empower you to think differently about your finances and how you can more effectively save, invest, and prepare for a secure retirement; we encourage you to push back against conventional wisdom where it falls short; and we embolden you to take action even though others may view it as “strange.”

Will Street

Strange Money

Will learned early on that if he wanted to achieve any level of financial success in life it would be up to him. Silver Spoons and Golden Parachutes didn’t exist in his family, much less in the trailer park where he grew up. Will worked hard, graduated from college and went on to become an attorney thinking the recipe for financial success was simply hard work and a decent paycheck.

As he saw colleagues and co-workers forced to put off retirement plans because of market losses, Will began to question the wisdom of the 401(k) (and market-based assets in general) as a retirement strategy. After years and countless hours of investigation, Will comes to a very simple conclusion: We’re all doing it wrong. We’ve been conditioned to think that doing what everyone else does just because everyone else does it, is correct. It isn’t. There is a better way – a “strange” way. Will embraces the “strange.”

An avid sports fan, Will only cheers for teams that break his heart, and with a wife and four young children, “free time” is a mirage dancing distantly but always out of reach.

Nick Jensen

Strange Money

After chasing the adrenaline rush of riding bulls, Nick turned to the financial world to satisfy his cravings for a fast paced and exciting lifestyle. Spending years studying, implementing and teaching complex financial strategies he came to the realization the stock market and Wall Street are a rigged game. The only people getting ahead are insiders and money managers while millions of Americans are delightfully loading their dollar bills into the 401K and Stock Market cattle hauler headed to the slaughter house rather than the state fair.

To help people avoid the catastrophe of being caught in the financial electric fences surrounded by horse crap, Nick’s on a personal mission to pull as much money off of Wall Street as possible. He only believes in investing in real assets and uses infinite banking to acquire these assets, especially real estate.

When not talking to investors, looking at deals, consulting clients on wealth strategies, running his businesses, or contemplating why he’s wired the way he is, you’ll probably find him hidden close to his wife and kids trying to convince them he’s a legend (so far they’re not convinced).
