The Perpetual Wealth Strategy – Episode 147

Listen to the podcast here:

When you look at what we’ve been told to do financially, and you look at where we are as a society, something is clearly not walking! Today Patrick Donohoe and guests talk about their overall strategy for financial security and prosperity: The Perpetual Wealth System. The Perpetual Wealth System has three major stages, usually (but not always) taking place at different points and ages in a person’s life.

The first stage of the Perpetual Wealth Strategy is growth. The growth stage is about accumulating money, accumulating savings, and keeping your money safe from the fluctuations of wall street, and hopefully out of 401(k)s.

The second stage of the Perpetual Wealth Strategy is income. It’s incredibly common as people grow older for them to realize that living off of their savings is an incredible stressful and sometimes even non-existent option. The solution to this problem is to find some way, whether through starting a business or through real estate, to maintain income into our retirement.

The final stage of the Perpetual Wealth Strategy is legacy. The legacy stage is about insuring a future for your children, and about finding out the best ways and things that you can do with your money to leave something meaningful behind when you go. As much as we all want ourselves to be financially secure, we want our families to be financially secure even more, and leaving a proper legacy is a great way to insure that they are.

Why I Quit My Six Figure Job and Started a Real Estate Business – Episode 146

Listen to the podcast here:

Why would you quit a six figure job and start a real estate business? Today our host Patrick Donohoe sits down with the real estate mogul Andrew Lanoie to talk to him about life, career, and business. Andrew and Patrick discuss how the 2008 crash served as a wake up call to Andrew. When his parents lost a significant portion of their savings in the crash, he realized that the “system was broken” and he needed to make a change. He decided to re-evaluate his life as a talent agent for William Morris (where he worked with celebrities like Sheryl Crow, Blues Traveler, and Lily Tomlin) and find a different business.

Patrick and Andrew talk about how he transitioned from his day job to living entirely off real estate investments and how long it took him to do so. They also discuss the intense re-education process that Andrew went through, where he learned how to start and manage a business and create wealth by reading books like Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and listening to podcasts like this one!

Finally, they talk about the successes of last year’s Cash Flow Wealth Summit, where they both spoke. They encourage you to register for the 2016 Summit, where Robert Kiyosaki from Rich Dad Poor Dad will be speaking, as well as a wide array of other successful speakers representing seventeen different industries.

End Capitalism? The Importance of a Capitalist System – Episode 144

Listen to the podcast here:

144_imageEnd capitalism? What do those two words make you think of? Inspired by the giant sign to the left that Patrick Donohoe, our host, saw in someone’s yard, today’s podcast episode is about the value, and real meaning, of capitalism.

Language and words are incredibly important, especially when it comes to something as critical as economics. A lot of people use “capitalism” as a synonym for greed or corporate abuse. However, the real meaning of capitalism is closely tied to our first amendment rights. The first amendment guarantees us the right to speak our minds, and capitalism gives us the right to act on them.

Capitalism also drives us all to be better. Patrick talks about how those who are constantly seeking to improve themselves and their circumstances can easily understand capitalism, it’s value and it’s benefits because capitalism is the system that motivates us that most to do our best.

Acting Rationally in an Irrational World: Trump’s Brilliant Strategy – Episode 143

Listen to the podcast here:

What’s does it mean to “Be rational, while thinking irrationally, in an irrational world”? Join Patrick Donohoe, Will Street, and Eric Patterson and on the 143rd episode of The Wealth Standard radio as they talk about some of the crazy, irrational things that are happening in current events and how we can still make rational decisions in an irrational world.

The perfect example of acting rationally in an irrational world is Trump. Donald Trump dominates the republican polls and nomination – is his success really just a fluke? Or is it a carefully honed, brilliant strategy that perfectly plays off people’s irrational thinking in an irrational world?

What can we do when we’re living in an irrational world? Finally, Patrick talks about how we can prepare ourselves for the irrationality of others. The sobering events in Belgium remind us of the importance of hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst – a concept that can apply to us financially as well as personally.
